    Ladder for Rural Development Organisation is a Local Non Governmental Organisation founded in the year 2000 by the members of the community that has passion to assist the poor and disadvantaged people in rural communities. LAFORD got registered with Malawi Government under the Trustees Incorporation Act of 1962 on 16 October 2007.  Through out these years the organisation has successfully implementing projects on Abortion/SRHR, gender, LGHTIQ+, HIV.AIDS, TB, community Livelihoods and human rights.

WHERE WE WORK

Ladder for Rural Development (LAFORD) works across Malawi with a long-term goal of empowering the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized people, focusing on improving their living standards and advocating against injustices that perpetuate poverty. LAFORD's strategic operations have centered on improving education, enhancing livelihoods, addressing the HIV/AIDS pandemic, and promoting water and sanitation. Gender equality, human rights, and climate change adaptation are also integrated across all interventions, ensuring a holistic approach to development.

LAFORD operates with a governance structure overseen by a Board of Trustees, ensuring transparency and accountability. We are guided by core values such as honesty, respect for human dignity, and team spirit, which shape our work and relationships with communities and donors.
