Ladder for Rural Development Organisation is a Local Non Governmental Organisation founded in the year 2000 by the members of the community that has passion to assist the poor and disadvantaged people in rural communities. LAFORD got registered with Malawi Government under the Trustees Incorporation Act of 1962 on 16 October 2007.

Ladder for Rural Development, we are dedicated to addressing the urgent sexual and reproductive health challenges faced by young women and girls, especially in the context of unsafe abortions and limited access to essential services. In Malawi, where 24% of the population is adolescent, our work focuses on empowering women and girls, where integrated SRHR, SGBV, and VAWG services are lacking. We strive to tackle the root causes of gender inequalities, such as cultural silence, limited access to resources, and inadequate institutional support. Our goal is to create a supportive, multi-sectoral approach that promotes the health, safety, and community empowerment, ultimately breaking down barriers and improving access to services and opportunities
